How to make the most of it
- Only buy tickets through the official channels of the schools and Liesa.
- Arrive at the Sambódromo two hours early; the subway runs 24 hours on parade days.
- At the street parties, carry little cash, wear sunscreen and drink water — the heat goes above 40 °C.
- Book accommodation months in advance: occupancy comes close to 100%.
