Tips for getting around well

  • A single transport card works on the metro, VLT, BRT and municipal buses.
  • Avoid driving in Zona Sul: parking is scarce and public transport covers the area well.
  • On match days at Maracanã and big concerts, leave an hour early.
  • At the beaches, the bus stops along the waterfront serve almost every neighborhood in Zona Sul.
